Ceremonial Cacao Workshop
This workshop offers a grounded introduction to ceremonial cacao through history, origin, and conscious preparation.
An educational and practice-based workshop exploring what ceremonial cacao means within Kaukawa’s standards, experience, and ethical framework. This workshop does not offer a ceremony, but an understanding of preparation, context, and a responsible relationship with cacao.
Participants will learn about cacao in Peru, its biodiversity, and Kaukawa’s standards for ceremonial cacao, supported by printed educational material and a preparation of cacao, concluding with one shared cup as part of the learning process.
THIS WORKSHOP IS NOT A CACAO CEREMONY.
At Kaukawa Cacao, we honor the depth and meaning of ceremony as held by First Nations and Indigenous communities, and we choose not to use ceremonial language lightly. Ceremonies are sacred acts tied to specific moments and purposes such as weddings, births, rites of passage, initiations, and community celebrations aligned with natural cycles like solstices and equinoxes.
