Cacao Ceremony

In the modern world, the word ceremony has often been misused to describe any gathering or ritual. At Kaukawa, we choose to honor the depth of cacao by not using ceremonial language lightly.

What a Cacao Ceremony Means at Kaukawa

At Kaukawa Cacao, a cacao ceremony is understood as a sacred act, held for specific moments and purposes — such as weddings, births, rites of passage, initiations, and community celebrations aligned with natural cycles like solstices and equinoxes.

In today’s world, the word ceremony is often used loosely to describe any gathering or ritual. We choose to honor its depth by not using ceremonial language lightly.

Our approach is intentional and respectful. We draw from the wisdom of Andean and Amazonian cosmologies, holding cacao as a plant with cultural and spiritual significance.

For this reason, we offer cacao ceremonies only by request, for groups or individuals, and in alignment with a clear intention and meaningful timing.

Our current focus is primarily educational — sharing knowledge on cacao traceability, cultivation, and environmental context — while maintaining deep respect for its ceremonial roots.
