Hi! We just came back fromt he jungle in Cusco. Our chuncho cacao grows from December to April and we would like to share this magical journey with you.
We visited our cacao farmer families that grow the chuncho cacao, most of them are Matsigenka , a native community that are part of the Arawak language family, which dates back to more than 3,000 years in south region of Peru.
Indigenous communities safeguard 80% of the world’s remaining biodiversity. These native and local communities manage or own 54% of the world’s remaining intact forests.
Preserving Cacao is preserving these ancestral cultures with their beautiful people, the real cacao guardians.
